DJs at Paramount: DJ Joe Gauthreaux For Joe Gauthreaux, DJ-ing is a "journey". Each time he steps into the booth, Gauthreaux forges a path through a diverse musical landscape, guiding throngs of party-goers through peaks and valleys of soulful funk, progressive rhythms, tribal drums, house and melodic, driving trance. Joe has made the trip countless times though never the same road twice. Each set behind the turntables represents an excursion into uncharted territory, and those of us on the dance floor always trust Gauthreaux's keen instincts. Joe spends countless hours preparing and searching meticulously for the latest cutting-edge tracks and overlooked classic sounds every week. His tastes reach far and wide, making him one of the most versatile DJ's on the scene today. His sets are intriguing, emotional and sometimes unpredictable. After garnering resident status at the hot spot OZ in New Orleans, Gauthreaux was in hot demand in US cities and many international venues. The versatility of his unique sound endeared him to the circuit culture where he remains a top draw, spinning high profile events such as Black and Blue Montreal, Cherry in D.C. and Toronto Gay Pride. Within the past 2 years Joe has chosen the road less traveled and has landed gigs in esteemed locales such as Roxy, Spirit and Fire Island's iconic Pavillion. He continues to make regular stops at Rise in Boston, and Chicago, Atlanta and Los Angeles. SBNY is his present home in NYC. Gauthreaux will be a headliner at the Love Boat Party in Miami in March of 2006 for the annual Winter Party. And so Joe continues onward, traveling the world and delivering new, unexplored musical terrain. Always a favorite at the Paramount in Provincetown let the fireworks begin as we celebrate our nation's birthday here at the Crown & Anchor with DJ Joe Gauthreaux. |
